Please Congratulate Bernie Consitt for 25 Years at IEC USA
Join us in celebrating Bernie Consitt's 25 years of service and camaraderie at IEC (International Electronic Components). Bernie has been instrumental in his role as Accounting Manager, helping to supervise, track, and evaluate day-to-day activities within the accounting team.

When asked about his experience at IEC, Bernie says, "For me, it's always been the leadership and support staff who make IEC a great place to work. I feel privileged to have worked at companies in my career where leadership was full of fine people. In the case of IEC, not only the employees, but the customers and suppliers too. It means a lot."

Bernie was born in Toronto, Canada, and moved to Midland, Ontario, in high school. After graduating, he worked for A&P Grocery. (He good-naturedly jokes that A&P stands for Aches and Pains!) He moved quite a bit with A&P over about eight years.

This is when Bernie decided to go back to school. Bernie graduated from Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario, majoring in Computer Technology and Business Administration. Upon graduation, Bernie joined Bell Canada, then Ashland Oil, before working for Nordson Canada for 23 years as an accounting manager.

Bernie started working with IEC in September 1998 and has been a valuable team member ever since.

Shawn Stone, President of IEC, states, “Bernie is endeared to all who work with him, not only in our Accounting Team but all the other departments at IEC. With his mischievous, fun-loving grin, he has graced our lives for many years – and has become someone we greatly count on. We are both proud and privileged to have him as part of our team, and we celebrate him with tremendous affection and gratitude! Cheers, Bernie – we are so grateful to have you!”

Once again, please join us in congratulating Bernie Consitt on his 25 years of service at IEC!

More Equipment  Collaboration with atg Luther & Maelzer GmbH

IEC USA and atg Luther & Maelzer GmbH confirm the order for a high-speed bare board testing system at Circuit Engineering
The atg A7aPro, a cutting-edge 8-head, double-sided, high-speed auto-load/unload system for uninterrupted “lights-out” operation, has been ordered and installed at Circuit Engineering Inc. in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This system brings a host of benefits, including increased efficiency, reduced human error, and the ability to handle complex tasks, all designed to enhance your production process.
atg’s A7aPro (auto-load/unload) testers utilize eight flying probe test heads, multiple optical recognition systems, and a wide variety of advanced, high-speed electrical test measurement techniques to electrically test all types of PCBs for continuity and isolation. Board sizes of 24” x 21’ (or larger), with small pad/fine pitch technology, can be tested quickly and easily. Special options, such as 4-wire Kelvin tests, hi-pot tests, and latent defect tests, can be provided.
For the past 25 years, Circuit Engineering has been a leading manufacturer of printed circuit boards. It is ISO 9001:2008 Certified, ITAR registered, and UL approved. Because Circuit Engineering sees a responsibility to exceed the expectations of its customers' PCB designs, it chose the A7aPro.
Specifically, when asked about the system, Circuit Engineering COO Dennis McCarthy replied, “This is one of the best investments in automation and technology for our test department. The ability to load up a job and focus on other tasks during the day has freed up valuable employees to focus on other complex tasks while this machine does the testing and sorting. The lights-out testing solution has really paid dividends as well, allowing us to load this machine, go home, and return to tested and sorted parts ready to move to the next operation ”.
IEC's Chris Hrusovsky helped facilitate this congruent and mutually beneficial relationship.
If you don’t know IEC, we are North America’s longest-serving distributor to the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry, with established partnerships with consumable companies Eternal Materials, RBP Chemicals, Schlotter, Kodak, and Rogers Corporation. IEC also represents equipment suppliers ASS-Luippold, DIS, Dynachem, Lauffer, Nordson March, Pluritec, Schmid, Sigma Mecer, and SUSS Microtec, in addition to atg. Our customers include a range of leading-edge and niche-market printed circuit board manufacturers across North America. IEC attributes our longevity to our employees' and loyal customers' expertise and dedication. With a proven sales and service network and high-level technical support capabilities, IEC envisions providing service at the highest standard for many more years to come.

Dave Brooks Celebrates 25 Years at IEC

Please join IEC (International Electronic Components) in congratulating Dave Brooks on 25 years of service and camaraderie. As one of the original members of the IEC USA team, Dave is a valuable contributor to IEC's continued success. When asked about his experience at IEC, Dave says, "In the 25 years IEC USA has been in business, our goal has always been to ensure our customers are taken care of. If the customer needs assistance with anything, even if it's not IEC's responsibility, we are willing to roll up our sleeves and fix the problem. Our customers are our #1 priority!" Dave was born in San Diego, California, and moved to Everett, Washington, where he had lived most of his life. Dave began his career in electronics at Fluke Corporation, a captive circuit board shop, allowing him to learn quickly the intricacies of every step of circuit board manufacturing. He started there as a plater and promptly moved up to Lead Production Supervisor. Dave began his career with IEC on February 1, 1999, when Shawn Stone and Chuck Williams were just starting IEC USA. They asked him to join them in getting the company off to a strong start. He has been a valuable team member ever since. Shawn Stone, President of IEC, states, “Dave is a member of the IEC USA Legacy Team. It has been our good fortune that he has been with us since its infancy—almost from the word go! He has brought a wealth of practical industry knowledge and understanding to the marketplace that just can’t be achieved without firsthand experience in the PCB Industry; we’re so grateful he’s been on every step of our USA journey.”

Chuck Williams, Partner and General Manager of IEC USA, says, "One of the founding members of IEC USA—employee number 2. I first met Dave in the Pacific Northwest at Fluke Corporation and then worked with him at Circuit Technology, which became Praegitzer Redmond. We were lucky to convince Dave to join IEC, initially covering the Northwest and eventually relocating to Northern California. Dave always puts his customers first: delivery, quality, and economics. It is natural for him to roll up his sleeves and work side-by-side with his customers. We are lucky to have him at IEC for the past quarter century; I am luckier still to count him among my friends now and for years to come."

Once again, please join us in congratulating IEC USA Legacy team member Dave Brooks on his 25 years of service at IEC!

The Passing of One of the Greats

December 9, 2022

We are deeply saddened to let you know that one of this industry’s greatest members, Kirk T. Lockett, has passed away Wednesday, Dec 7th,2022. Many of you who knew him will remember that Kirk became a member of IEC USA in 2012, after our collaboration with and purchase of Intermountain Circuit Supply, Inc. Kirk had been President, Owner & Operator for 12 years and prior to that, Kirk had been a valuable member of Senior Management with DuPont, where he spent 30 years of his employment. Kirk finally retired from IEC and the PCB industry in July of 2021, and while we congratulated that milestone, we knew how much he’d be missed. As we move through our lives, there are those unique individuals who make a monumental impact in just their very presence and ability to make us feel cared for, at ease, and important. For those of us who had the pleasure of working with him at IEC, we experienced that Kirk was one of those people. There are no words, and not enough letters in the alphabet to convey how much we care for Kirk and his lovely wife Judy, nor to illustrate how wonderful a person Kirk was. From encouraging his Associates, to his kind and gentlemanly ways, from the twinkle in his eye, matched only by his sideways grin, thinking about Kirk always brings an avalanche of happy memories, and, in this moment, tremendous emotion of a loss of one of The Greats. We rally our hearts around Kirk’s family at this time and wish our deepest and sincerest condolences and will always remember Kirk with fondness and affection.

Funeral arrangements are pending from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, and we will update this post with that information as soon as it is available.

Calumet Electronics gives a Shout Out to it's Supply Partner, IEC!

July 29th, 2022

(as posted on Calumet Electronics website: https://www.calumetelectronics.com/iec-shares-calumet-electronics-commitment-to-outstanding-service/ )

In 1966, Jim Stone founded International Electronic Components (IEC) in Montreal, Québec. The company soon became the premier distributor to the printed circuit board industry in Eastern Canada, through partnerships with Dynachem, Chemcut and Mica. Today Jim’s son Shawn serves as president and majority owner, carrying out his father’s commitment to maintaining an outstanding customer experience through sales, service, and technical support.

We’re very grateful for our ongoing partnership with IEC
Elden Hendrickson

In 1998, Shawn and industry veteran, Chuck Williams, partnered to start IEC USA, headquartered in Santa Clara, CA. Since then the company has expanded nationwide. IEC offers a product portfolio sourced from leading-edge suppliers and globally recognized companies. Their mission is to provide the right products, at the right place, at the right time.

“IEC works very closely with our partners to assist our customers,” said Calumet Electronics Vice President/CPO Elden Hendrickson, Jr. “They supply us with Rogers laminate material and have also been a great source of information and help. Shawn Stone and Chris Hrusovsky are always there and ready to assist us, which is super valuable in this industry with so many twists and turns.”

One example of IEC’s dedication to customer service came in 2021, when Calumet Electronics partnered on a project with IEC and Rogers Corporation. IEC facilitated the partnership through several video calls and on-site visits, working closely with Rogers and Calumet’s Engineering and Management Teams to determine best practice manufacturing processes for several Rogers materials. This new capability allowed Calumet to expand our marketplace offerings and gain new business at several key OEMs with these materials.

IEC continuously explores ways to make the customer experience more efficient. They established their own warehouses in Elk Grove Village, IL and Norristown, PA to ensure that product inventory was closer to the customers in those regions. The company also has warehouses in Toronto, Santa Clara and Orange County, CA, as well as Phoenix, Denver, and Logan, UT. IEC maintains an array of consumables partnerships while also representing top-tier international equipment companies.

“We’re very grateful for our ongoing partnership with IEC,” said Hendrickson. “They’ve been doing this work for more than five decades, and it shows. They play a key part in helping us keep our business on track. We look forward to many more years of working together to benefit our customers.”

A Parting Far too Soon

Dear Associates, Suppliers, Customers & Friends,
With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of one of our own. Chris Williams, who worked with our West Coast IEC Team, passed away after battling complications of Type 1 Diabetes on the evening of Thursday, September 16th, 2021. Chris Williams, who is also son of IEC's Vice President, Chuck Williams began working with IEC's North West customers in 2008. He brought dedication, detail and a great sense of humour to those of us who worked closely with him over the years - he will be greatly missed. Chris was only 37 years old and while we grieve his far too early departure, we are so privileged to have gotten to know him. In saying that, we cannot possibly imagine the heartbreak that has befallen Chris' father Chuck, his mother Yvonne, and his sister, Anna. The loss of a loved one is always painful - the loss of one's child in unthinkable. We will continue to lift up those Chris leaves behind, and forever wish them comfort at this most difficult of times.
There will be a visitation in honour of Chris this coming Thursday, between 2:30 - 4:30 PM (PT) at Springer & Son, located at 4150 S.W. 185th, PO Box 5308, Aloha, Oregon, 97006, 503-356-1000. A Celebration of Life will take place in the future and we will update with those details once we have them.

HAPPY TRAILS, Kirk Lockett Sr.

Hello Associates, Suppliers, Customers and Friends,
There is no question that this announcement comes with mixed feelings. It is always difficult to see one of our own leave for retirement, and this is no exception. However, we are so very pleased to be able to wish our Arizona Sales Representative, Mr. Kirk Lockett Sr., a happy retirement, and many, many thanks for the years that he has been a valuable member of our IEC Team. He will be leaving us for retirement as of the end of this month, July 2021. Kirk became a member of IEC USA in 2012, after our collaboration with and purchase of Intermountain Circuit Supply, Inc. where Kirk had been President, Owner & Operator for 12 years. Prior to that, Kirk had been a valuable member of Senior Management with DuPont, where he spent no less than 30 years. Anyone who knows Kirk thinks of him always, first, as a true gentleman; he is unparalleled in his reputation for being a perfect blend of kindness tempered with sensible business savvy. The Printed Circuit Board Industry in the United States will be losing one of its members who possesses tremendous caliber of character, along with a wealth of knowledge of the industry spanning over 50 years. We are so grateful to have been able to learn from him, work with him, but most specifically to get to know him. What a wonderful man! Kirk, we wish you every good thing: for you, your beautiful wife, Judy, and the rest of your family and it’s future! We hope that you will take a piece of each of us with you in your heart, knowing how much we will miss you! Thank you for everything that you have done, but more importantly, for who you are!

Sincerely,
Shawn Stone, Chuck William
& Everyone at IEC

“We are very proud of achieving the 50 year milestone,” says company president Shawn Stone. “It’s a testament to my father, Jim Stone, whose philosophy was simple: business is organized friendship. Our plan is to highlight that philosophy throughout the year as we celebrate the customers, suppliers and employees who helped us get here.”

Being successful in this market for 50 years is only possible with the expertise and dedication of IEC’s employees and its loyal customers. With a proven sales and service network as well as high level technical support capabilities, IEC envisions providing service for many more years to come.
